A major federal government agency is looking for a Senior Oracle
Software Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract. This is a
hands-on development role working with Oracle technologies across
complex government systems.
You'll be responsible for analysis, design, development, and
maintenance of Oracle-based solutions, solving complex problems,
providing technical leadership, and mentoring less experienced staff.
The first 6 weeks are full-time onsite in Canberra, transitioning to a
hybrid arrangement (minimum 3 days per week in the office).
What You'll Be Doing
- Analysis, design, development, prototyping, unit testing and
maintenance of Oracle solutions
- Solving complex problems and delivering high quality solutions
- High-level analysis of technical requirements to support project evaluation
- Technical design and development of complex custom solutions
- Conversion and migration solutions
- Managing releases and ensuring go-live production support
- Sharing knowledge and providing mentorship to less experienced staff
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Strong experience in Oracle PL/SQL
- Experience with SmartIQ (Infinity/Intelledox)
- Unix tools (Korn Shell scripts, AWK)
- Oracle Application Express (APEX)
- Oracle Forms and Reporting
- Working experience with Geospatial data
- Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance
- Australian citizenship
Desirable:
- Application support experience in a government environment
