About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and driven PMO Lead to design, establish and run a central Program Management Office within our Digitalisation Office. This is a rare greenfields opportunity — you won't be inheriting someone else's framework, you'll be building it.
You'll play a pivotal role in supporting one of our most significant strategic programs — Cloud Campus — a large-scale digital transformation initiative spanning cloud technology, campus transition, and business transformation. This role sits at the heart of how we govern, manage and report on programs and projects across the organisation.

You'll play a pivotal role in supporting one of our most significant strategic programs — Cloud Campus — a large-scale digital transformation initiative spanning cloud technology, campus transition, and business transformation. This role sits at the heart of how we govern, manage and report on programs and projects across the organisation.
What you'll do
- Establish and lead the PMO — Design and stand up the central PMO function, embedding governance, tools, templates and best practice across program and BAU delivery.
- Oversee reporting and performance — Provide regular status reporting and assurance to senior management and governance boards, tracking key metrics and project health.
- Drive governance and assurance — Manage risk, issues, change control and documentation. Provide secretariat support for Program and Sponsorship Boards.
- Financial and resource oversight — Track budgets, manage resource planning, procurement and contract management across the portfolio.
- Coach and develop — Mentor project managers in planning, scheduling and reporting best practices. Lead and develop a small team of PMO staff.
- Champion continuous improvement — Collaborate with the Business Transformation team to drive functional and cultural change in how programs are delivered.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience establishing or leading a PMO, ideally in a complex or government environment
- Strong knowledge of MSP (Managing Successful Programs) or equivalent program delivery frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to develop governance frameworks, reporting toolkits and assurance processes
- Experience engaging and reporting to senior executive stakeholders and governance boards
- Financial literacy — budget tracking, resource management and procurement experience
- A collaborative, change-oriented mindset with the ability to influence without authority
- Experience in digital transformation or technology-led programs (highly desirable)
