About the role
A successful FinTech organisation building compliance technology is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of five. You'll bring genuine technical depth while also driving culture, delivery, and growth across the team.
Reporting to the CTO, you'll be hands-on with the technology — not just managing from a distance. This is a remote role, (but you will have the option to go into the office) with a preference for candidates based in Sydney (or east coast of Aus at a minimum)

Reporting to the CTO, you'll be hands-on with the technology — not just managing from a distance. This is a remote role, (but you will have the option to go into the office) with a preference for candidates based in Sydney (or east coast of Aus at a minimum)
What you'll do
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of 5 (software engineers and product owners).
- Stay technically hands-on across; JS, Node.js, AWS and Java
- Partner with the CTO & Managers to define engineering standards and roadmap
- Drive delivery, quality and continuous improvement across the team
- Help shape the engineering culture as the business scales
What you'll bring
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or senior technical lead
- Solid hands-on skills in Node.js, AWS and Java
- Start-up or scale-up experience — you're comfortable with ambiguity and pace
- Background in or exposure to CTO / engineering leadership environments
- Experience in compliance tech or FinTech is highly regarded
The package
- $180,000 – $205,000 base salary + superannuation + equity
- Fully remote working arrangement
