Whats the Gig ?
As a solution designer you will:
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Create, document, socialise and iterate end to end solution designs. This includes:
- o identifying, investigating, and analysing business processes, procedures and work practices
- o identifying and evaluating inefficiencies and recommending optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour
- o contributing to the costing of the end to end solution
- o acting as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the project decision making process
- Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to gain agreement to the design
- Uphold the architectural governance principles and good implementation design for architectural deliverables
- Ensure effective design integration between individual projects to serve overall whole of government investment
- Ensure that the build, test and deployment of the solution remains faithful to the outcomes. This includes:
- o taking responsibility for functional solutions, such as creating, adopting and implementing test plans, which ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the system
- o using data and process modelling techniques into the solution design create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
- Contribute to the effective management of risks and issues associated with solution designs
- Champion Solution Design within the agency and across Directorates as the key activity to reimagine service delivery in the digital era to stakeholders
- able to lead the design process with a cross section of internal stakeholders, external stakeholders – including service users.
- Exemplify a community centred outcomes focus
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of approaches and microservices architectures and how these are blended with traditional legacy systems to create effective solutions
- Be skilled in creating journey maps, empathy maps, mock-up wireframes
- Be skilled in contemporary business and systems analysis techniques, ideally familiarity with or willingness to work using contemporary design methods
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
