Our Client, a well know Consultancy is seeking to appoint a Network Engineer to join the business on an initially 12-month engagement with multiple extension options available based purely on performance.

Working onsite at a Federal Government Department the scope of the engagement involves:
- Assisting the Network Architect in reviewing contractor documentation
- Assisting the Network Architect in system design activities and managing the approved system baseline
- Assisting the department’s contractors with component build activities
- Conduct the department’s system integration
- Authors support system artefacts
- Conducts the departments integration AT&E
- Develop a detailed understanding of the system design and function.
- Support the Network Architect, Technical SME leads and the Project Manager.
- Delivers in accordance with the project’s system engineering plan and processes.
Selection Criteria:
- Australian citizenship and minimum NV1 experience essential
- 3-5 years minimum experience in IT industry in Network technologies including:
- o Cisco Routing and Switching
- o Cisco Firewalls
- o Riverbed Steelheads
- o SolarWinds NPM/NCM (or other Network monitoring systems)
- Desired current industry certifications with Cisco, Riverbed
- Demonstrated competency and understanding of IP networking technologies (OSI model, Routing, Switching, Firewalling)
- Understanding of virtualisation and operating systems.
- Familiarity with HP ALM-QC.
- Skilled and effective communicator, spoken and written, prepared to confidently engage in technical forums.
- Ability to work in a team environment, participate in project meetings and engage with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Effective planner with efficient time management skills, including interaction with remote teams across multiple time zones.
- Ability to rapidly learn new concepts and tasks, with a view of improving technical knowledge and skills.
- Intuition to balance innovation against supportability for customised application of technologies.
