Our Client, a Not for profit organisation is seeking to appoint a Cyber Security Analyst to join the existing Infrastructure team on a permanent basis due to expansion.
  
The successful Cyber Security Analyst will be their first Security related appointment and will report into the ICT Manager and working alongside a Senior Systems Administrator and Linux Administrator.
  
The Client has a road-map in place to scale the team to 18+ over the next two years so this would suit an experienced Cyber Security Analyst who intends over the next two years to take the step up into perhaps a Security Manager capacity.
  
The Client is embarking on their journey to strengthen their Cyber Security position and embedded Cyber practices and awareness hence hiring this key position for someone who is passionate about Cyber Security and working through processes.
  
Key responsibilities include:
  • Identification, investigation and resolution of Security incidents and breaches detected by those systems
  • Checking server and firewall logs and scrutinising network traffic
  • Play a key role in creating and developing an internal cyber awareness program to be rolled out to all staff and implementing additional security solutions to strengthen the Clients position
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cybersecurity and to ensure relevant stakeholders are provided with relevant, accurate and current information on cybersecurity.
  • Work with the ICT Manager and CIO to develop, implement, and maintain an Operational Technology Cybersecurity assurance program to ensure assets are protected
  • Support the management of the Information Security Management System and Cyber Security Management Systems to ensure they meet international standards and the Clients Cyber Security Policy 2021
  • Perform Vulnerability Scans across all network segments and Web Services
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious behaviour
  • Analyse current Security requirements and make suggestions for improvements
  • Conduct Security audits and make policy recommendations.
Selection Criteria:
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency essential
  • 2 years + experience in a similar Cyber Security Analyst role
  • Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
  • Understanding common protocols such as TCP, UDP, IPSec, HTTP, SSL, TLS, and DNS.
  • Sound practical knowledge of relevant best practice frameworks including IT Service Management (eg ITIL V3)
  • Technology certifications such as AWS, MCP/MCSE, CCNA/CCNP desirable
  • Relevant cyber security certifications such as CEH, OSCP, OSCE, GIAC, GCIA, GSEC, Security+, CISSP desirable
