Business Analyst

Well-funded NSW Government Health agency the Cancer institute is looking for a well-rounded Business Analyst to join the IT Projects team. Working with a small team of 6 Business Analysts you will be working on 3 main initiatives.   
  • Systems imaging project 
  • Intranet refresh 
  • Website refresh - working on 3 main websites,
Key Accountabilities:
• Collaborate with managers and systems users to determine how systems modifications or enhancements may meet their current and emerging needs.
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of existing business systems/processes across CINSW to identify areas for improvement.
• Build and maintain key relationships with users, technical staff and stakeholders to enable effective resolution of issues and understanding of existing and new business needs.
• Work closely with the Business stakeholders to understand the requirements and scope of work for the required delivery team.
• Contribute to the development of functional specifications/solution definitions to meet business requirements within agreed policies and standards.
• Perform business process mapping to define, capture and measure business rules, activities and requirements.
• Prepare relevant material, documentation and support to external developers and end-users to facilitate effective solution identification and implementation .
• Facilitate knowledge transfer, mentoring and coaching of staff on the use of corporate systems, including content development for training courses to build the capacity of business users and technical staff in system use.
• Identify issues/risks for management and associated strategies to ensure resolution or mitigation.
 
Essential requirements
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in an IT environment (Agile Software Development, Solution Delivery or Support).
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and understanding business needs and technology solutions, with proven analytical skills to enable the development of business processes and/or technical solutions, including the ability to write documentation that clearly defines business problems in
a clear manner.
• Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and documentation, business process modelling, user story creation, functional/non-functional analysis, and business case development.
• Proven experience in engaging and collaborating with a range of business stakeholders to develop ongoing working relationships that achieve positive outcomes.
• Degree or higher in business, technology and/or equivalent experience.
