Our Client, a well know brand in the IT Infrastructure space is seeking to appoint a Wintel Systems Administrator to join the existing team on a 6 month initial contract basis with opportunity to extend based on business requirements and performance.

The Clients environment includes:
- Approx 80 infrastructure servers evenly split across Production and Lab Networks.
- Lab network comprises over 2000 virtual and physical machines for testing and development
- Predominantly VMWare Virtualisation.
- Predominantly Windows Active Directory.
- 150 Software Developers and Supporting Staff.
- Backup - CommVault, Dell Tape Library, Acronis, Veeam.
- Antivirus – Mix of McAfee ePO, Windows Defender and Symantec VirusScan Enterprise.
- Windows 10 PC (90%) and Apple MacBooks (10%).
- Dell Servers and Workstations.
- Cisco and Dell Switches and Routers.
Selection Criteria:
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency essential
- VMWare vSphere – Comfortable logging into vCenter Admin Console to check on status of running VMs.
- Microsoft Active Directory – Comfortable logging into Active Directory to check on status of user accounts and group memberships. Troubleshoot AD permissions assigned to network shares and resources.
- Knowledge equivalent to Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification – Windows Networking, Installing and Configuring Windows 2012-2016, File and Print Services, Remote Desktop Services, etc.
- Microsoft Windows 10 OS.
- Networking Fundamentals – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing and Switching, Subnets, etc.
- Security and Compliance – Windows Software Update Services (WSUS), Antivirus and end-point protection (no particular vendor), adhering to corporate policies and standards, security audits.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery Concepts – Full vs incremental backups, tape rotation for offsite storage, backup of virtual machines, etc.
