JOB DETAILS

You will be working with the operations team to provide database development services and will work collaboratively to develop outcomes that ensure user needs are considered. You may participate in related cross-agency activities.

You will configure an Azure SQL Server database environment for Data Collection use, ETL existing data holdings into the database, and configure connectivity with our analytics product (Power BI). You will develop documented and reusable methods to load future data collections into the database, which minimise manual handling and manage ongoing changes to the data model. You will transition knowledge and assets to the operations team.

Essential Skills & Experience 

• Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years experience in Data Management
• Demonstrated experience in Azure SQL Server and Power BI
• Excellent documentation and knowledge transfer experience
• Demonstrated experience in establishing database instances, ETL, repeatable data and database management methods
• Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary, digital delivery team, ideally using agile methods.

Nice-to-have skills and experience  

Contemporary data management and analytics capabilities and practices. Experience with Cloud based database environments.

How long is the contract?   6 months with option to extend

Where can the work take place?   Australian Capital Territory

You will work in a team comprising of a Team Lead for Data Collection and Analysis, Senior Data Analyst and two Data Analysts.

What will the specialist do?   The Database Developer works in the Portfolio Management and Investment Advisory Office (PMIAO)

This team collates and analyses data to provide insights into the effectiveness of digital services.

What are the working arrangements?   Working on site

Is security clearance required?   Current Commonwealth Government baseline security clearance an advantage, otherwise the ability to obtain one.
